Zanja Madre - Mulholland's Nightmare
I've been collaborating with Martin Lopez-Iu on music and other creative projects since grade school. I was really happy to play bass on his first solo album, "Mid-Latitudes," and so when he asked me to direct the music video for "Mulholland's Nightmare," I was excited to continue our decades long creative partnership.
We stuck to the Mulholland theme of the song, subbing Martin in for Mulholland in an itchy fake mustache. Luckily, we were able to find a lot of water-centric stock footage from the 20s to the 50s, and shooting the video on Super 8mm helped the newer footage blend in.
